Jeez, I haven't been on LJ in, like two months! Wow. I've been very busy with school stuff, which sucks. I hope all of you are well!
Halloween is on Monday! I'm so excited! I still need to finish my Samurai costume, though. Sigh.
I hate to return on a political note, but I got this email from the John Kerry website that I'm still subscribed to, and he asked me to pass it around. Heehee. I make it sound like he asked me personally. Anyway....It's about the war in Iraq. It's his speech at Georgetown University. Man, I love John Kerry. I don't care if people thought he was boring or whatever. His mellowness was funny to me. And he is always sending emails on really important issues! I wish he was president... Well, here it is: http://www.johnkerry.com/pressroom/speeches/spc_2005_10_26.html
See ya!

We went to San Francisco today! Early in the afternoon we went to the Presidio! You know, the place Lucas just bought? We went to this Yoda fountain that was really awesome! I threw in a nickel and made a wish. I swear! Yoda is the best! Then we went down to the water, and I had a delicious mocha. Later we went to Fisherman's warf(As I predicted). Same old. Sanfransisco was foggy but over downtown it was sunny for the most part. It was very beautiful. Right now San Fransisco seems to have lots of pirate souveniers for some reason...I like pirates! Right now I'm watching Hedwig and the Angry Inch. I should go to bed soon.
Good night, all!

Today we were gone. We went to Santana Row and saw The March of the Penguins! It was a pretty cool movie. What those penguins go through is unbelievable! And just imagine the poor film crew! ;D
Then we walked around the shops for a bit. I bought a little Panda Happy notebook from Mai Do and was disapointed to see that they didn't have Sandman #3 Dream Country at Borders. Sigh. I don't feel like walking to Space Cat Comics to buy it. Hopefully my family will be able to find it for a birthday present or something. I don't think the're very good in the comicbook present department though.
My deviant gallery has grown so much over the summer! At the start, I only had, like, four Deviants! Now I have 39 and am ready to post two more! I feel kinda sorry for my friends on there. There deviant watch pages are probably full of my crap. I've done all of this fanart, but I have yet to finish my Summer Art homework for Mrs. Z. I'll do it on Sunday....
Hey! That reminds me!You don't think that a bare butt counts as adult content, do you? I have this pic I need to post. but it has Saeros(from the Silmarillion)'s naked ass on it. All of us have butts, so I don't think it should be counted as adult, but I don't want to scare anyone. Maybe I'll just mark it as adult content...
Me and Becky got our invitations to Christina's Party! I wonder how it will be this year?
School starts next week. Oy vey. They need to give us Art for 4th period. Untill then we have a free hour. We'll probably just hang around the art room thill they give it to us, too. Ugh.
We're going to San Francisco tomarrow! We don't know what we're gonna do though. Probably same-old same-old at Fishermans Warf.
PeaceOut!

I haven't posted in a while.I hope everyone is doing well.
I just read the two first Sandman comics! They are, to say the least, UNBELIEVABLE!!! I love them so much! Morpheous is awesome! The art is incredible! Neil Gaiman is a genious!
School starts in two weeks. Ugh. I want to get a new haircut, but I can't find any styles I like that aren't in cartoons. Figures.
Speaking of cartoons, we saw our cousins Jon, Adam, and Theresa again! They are as cool as ever. Jon says all he watches is cartoons too. Adult Swim and stuff. He has to be the coolest person I have ever known. He's twenty one now, so he can drink legally. He met that animator! You know the one...Miyazaki's apprentice! I can't come up with his name right now. Theresa is doing good! She is still living with Ben and they have a pond that apparently the landlord swims in. Wierd, huh? There is also a duck named Larry. She's so cool. Adam, apparently, is really into Mario Kart Double Dash at the moment. He's so funny! He's all tall now too. Why do I have to be so short. Ugh. Jon's band is named State Motto! We might see him play on Sept. 9th. I can't wait!
I don't know whether Becky and I should have any sort of birthday partay . We can't decide. Which means probably nothing will happen.
No one's gotten Christina's birthday invitations. She should invite Breanna! That would be a hoot!
I'm also thinking about the future. I think I'll go to a community college. Everyone I know who went to both a community college and a university has said the community one was much better with smarter people too. That's odd. I'll take their word for it.
I don't know what career I want ot pursue! I'm so lost! maybe I'll try to work for ILM in San Francisco. I have no idea.
Peace out!

Your wise quote is: "Be kind to unkind people, they probably need it the most" by Ashleigh Brilliant. You try to look beyond apperance, try to give people second chances and are probably very kind. Understanding is your biggest personality trait, and thoose you can see through should be grateful. If they aren't already. You detest narrow minded people, because they can't see what's really there. Facades is not your thing and you strive to always be who you really are.

SPANISH LAWSUIT AGAINST CHINESE AUTHORITIES SEEKS JUSTICE FOR TIBETAN VICTIMS
COMITE DE APOYO AL TIBET June 28th, 2005
Today the first known criminal lawsuit was filed against Jiang Zemin (former President of China), Li Peng (former Primer Minister of China) and five other Chinese officials [i] for crimes of genocide, crimes against humanity, torture and terrorism committed upon the Tibetan people, at the National Court (Audiencia Nacional) in Madrid, Spain. This historic lawsuit is the first case seeking to define the Chinese State’s treatment of the Tibetan people, where it is claimed that over 1 million Tibetan’s were murdered or died at the hands of Chinese officials, and over 90% of the religious and cultural institutions destroyed.
Following Spain’s positive legislation and judgments using universal jurisdiction to sentence State perpetrators of crimes against humanity, [ii] the lawsuit is the culmination of 8 years of academic research by Dr José Elías Esteve. Presented by the CAT: Comité de Apoyo al Tíbet, a Madrid-based, a-political and secular NGO, [iii] the lawsuit has also been co-signed by national and international human rights organizations, and supported by expert jurists (legal experts) and international Tibet Support Groups. [iv]
Despite three United Nations General Assembly Resolutions (1959, 1960, 1965) that condemned Chinese abuses and granted the Tibetan people the right to self-determination in 1960 there has been little international resolution to “promote universal respect for, and observance of, human rights and fundamental freedoms” for the Tibetan people. Reports by many legal experts and organisations, such as the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) have repeatedly condemned Chinese actions in Tibet as an occupation and have considered Chinese Communist Party's systematic repression and acts in Tibet from 1950 to the end of the 1970's as a crime of genocide against the Tibetan people. “The international community’s failure to take decisive measures on behalf of the Tibetan people reflects a biased passivity” says Dr José Elías Esteve, recipient of a Magna Cum Laude for his Ph.D ("The legal status of Tibet in international law," University of Valencia). “In the face of such inertia from the international community, the Tibetan people continue to face imprisonment, religious, cultural and economic discrimination, persecution and repression under Chinese policies whilst the current and historic perpetrators of such atrocities remain at large and in positions of authority within the CCP.”[v]
Human rights organizations and governments have long criticized the People’s Republic of China (PRC) for their human rights record, and whilst the PRC have ratified the Genocide Convention and the Convention Against Torture, there continue to be frequent and detailed example of gross abuses of justice emanating from the country which claims to be under the rule of law. Such international organisations and documents explicitly state that their objective is to sanction and end impunity, and to prevent similar crimes from being committed in the future. “In launching this lawsuit, we are seeking a moral and legal answer to the acts committed upon the Tibetan people by the authorities of the People's Republic of China” says Alán Cantos, Coordinator of CAT. “The preference for non-judicial reports and findings has limited the Tibetans ability to gain meaningful reparation for their suffering- we will present the judge with the facts and the fundamentals of law in order for the empowered legal authorities to pass judgment upon. For the Tibetan people, for the principles of universal justice and for the moral fortitude of the international community, a judgment of the heinous crimes committed by the PRC and their representatives upon the Tibetan people remains imperative. We are happy that the Spanish legal system appears to be more and more capable of applying the universal law as it is written and not as governments and dictators prefer. I believe that such initiatives will provide the first step in seeking retrospective justice to the individuals and families involved.”
Thubten Wangchen, a Spanish citizen and Director of Casa del Tibet in Barcelona has also co-signed the lawsuit, saying "This offers each Tibetan an opportunity to gain legal recognition for their suffering.” He and his family directly suffered from the Chinese genocide: “The Chinese army took my pregnant mother away when I was a child, and I never saw her again. Later in my life I was also arrested and threatened with death. Until I became a Spanish citizen I couldn’t have dreamed of participating in such a lawsuit, as I was without citizenship and feared repercussions.” Several Spanish judgments on Argentina and Chile have demonstrated that the legal infrastructure is willing to encourage such initiatives. Despite the restrictive interpretations of universal jurisdiction given by the High Court (Tribunal Supremo), the dissenting opinions in the Guatemala judgment, as expressed in this paragraph, must prevail: “By removing impunity for serious crimes against humanity such as genocide, the exercise of universal jurisdiction contributes towards peace and the humanization of our civilization… It … contributes towards a more just world and a safer one, and towards consolidating international law rather than violence as the habitual method of solving conflicts.” Furthermore, many jurists and international human rights organizations are challenging such restrictive interpretations of universal jurisdiction. A recent Amnesty International report (13/05/05) claims that “The duty to respect the obligations of international law cannot be eluded" [vi], whilst the restrictive judgment in the Guatemala case is now being revised by our Constitutional Court. One of the dissenting judges who subscribed to the illegality of this interpretation is now the General State Prosecutor in Spain, Mr. Conde Pumpido.
José Elías Esteve and Alán Cantos, promoters of this legal initiative, conclude: "The right of reparations to victims and forgiveness cannot be appealed, nor can it be ceded to any political representative. It is the Tibetan victims and their families, the sole and true holders of this nontransferable right, who for the first time ask for the protection of a court of justice and wish to see their tragedy recognized after decades of fruitless resistance."
CAT: COMITE DE APOYO AL TIBET is a completely secular and politically independent NGO with nearly 20 years’ experience, and is concerned solely with the survival of the Tibetan people and culture seriously threatened since the invasion by China.

Do you know what? Labeling cartoons has really gotten on my nerves lately. I hate it when people need to know if it's a Disney, a Pixar, a Dreamworks, a Don Blueth, a Nickelodeon, a Ghibli, or another Anime studio, or whatever. Like it for what it is, not what company sponsered or created it! People label Disney as only childish fairytales, but what about the hilarious Emperors New Groove, or the dramatic Lion King, or the great American classics? Some may think all anime's are violent or too adult, but there are children stories like My Neighbor Totoro, and universaly loved movies like Tokyo godfathers! People may only watch Anime, but in Japan's early days of animation they took example of the great Disney animated features! The same goes for American cartoons! Let the creator draw how they want, don't say they were trying to make it like an anime! All great artists take inspirations from one another! The Greats all studied the previous masters in their beginings! Hell! The Anime fans and the Western fans should be friends! They are more alike than they may think!

I really want to see Howl's Moving Castle again!!!! It's one of those movies that comes back to your mind later and haunts you! It was so good! I hate ranking things, but at the moment I like it even more than Spirited Away. With Hayao Miazaki's movies, though, it's hard to compare them all since they are each so distinct. I think it's safe to compare Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle, though, since they are both a little romantic and really magical. It's harder if you want to compare, let's say, Princess Mononoke and My Neighbor Totoro. All of his movies are so great!
